The Amazon DynamoDB product team is looking for a Senior Developer Advocate to join our team. This is an opportunity to help tens of thousands of developers and builders accelerate their success with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon DynamoDB. Amazon DynamoDB Developer Advocates connect our customers with the DynamoDB product team. You will use your deep technical expertise, strong relationship-building skills, and public speaking abilities to create compelling content, educate customers, engage with the NoSQL developer community, and gather feedback to drive the DynamoDB product roadmap. You will work with DynamoDB product managers and engineering teams as the voice of the customer, helping design and deliver new features and product improvements that solve the biggest customer challenges.
We are a distributed team. Today, we have team members in Washington, Arizona, Indiana, California, and Paris. Our core team hours are Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-4:00PM PST. Team members adjust the rest of their workday to suit their needs, with flexibility for recurring personal responsibilities like drop-offs and pick-ups. As long as you are able to work our core team hours, this role may be based out of any state or province where we have an AWS presence including (but not limited to): Arizona, British Columbia, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, or Washington. In addition to supporting virtual team members, we can align folks to AWS Offices in cities including (but not limited to): Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Portland, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Irvine, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Santa Monica, Sunnyvale, San Diego, Las Vegas, Boulder, Denver, Phoenix, Tempe, Salt Lake City, Meridian, Vancouver, or Victoria.

Key jobs responsibilities
As a Senior Developer Advocate, you will be a representative of Amazon DynamoDB to our customers, and an advocate of our customer's needs to the DynamoDB product team. You will work to earn customer trust by identifying and anticipating customer challenges, providing opinionated, deeply technical guidance, and ensuring customer needs are communicated to the product team clearly and effectively.
You will identify information gaps, creating and delivering technical content to educate and guide customers, including documentation, blog posts, technical presentations, workshops, and video content. You'll work with customers, developers, and the broader database community to create sample code and applications to demonstrate complex NoSQL topics. You will foster engagement and scale your outreach efforts by leading communities both within and outside of Amazon.
This is a high-impact role that's well-suited to someone who possesses deep database expertise, is a hands-on builder, is passionate about helping customers be successful with NoSQL technology, and excels at communicating complex technical topics to a varied audience with simplicity and honesty.
About the team
The DynamoDB product team is a diverse group of principal and senior product managers, researchers, and advocates. You will have mentorship from individuals that have 10+ years on industry experience, peers to collaborate with, and peers to mentor. The product team has a unique set of past experiences (marketing, PhD, engineering, solution architect, consultant, etc.) that helps us seek diverse opinions to best serve our customers. We seek to create a safe place to try new ideas and recognize those that contribute to others success.
*7+ years of technical experience in Development, DevOps, SRE, Developer Advocacy or similar roles
*2+ years experience with databases as a developer, operator, or advocate
*2+ years experience writing and speaking on technical topics
* Specific experience with any NoSQL database technology
* Distributed systems and/or serverless event-driven architecture experience
* Database development experience in your preferred language(s)
* Database administration and operation experience in a production environment
* Product team experience
* Project or product team leadership experience

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $160,900 - 217,600 /yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
