Responsibilities:

  • Engineering a scalable, reliable and developer friendly platform to promote seamless software development, deployment and operations.
  • Automation & Tooling: Develop tools to abstract the complex aspects of the platform from developers to improve developer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Manage infrastructure as Code: Use tools like Terraform, Helm and Crossplane to manage and automate provisioning of all cloud infrastructure and champion GitOps best practices.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Establish robust monitoring and logging foundations collaborating with the wider Site Reliability Engineering Function and ensure platform reliability and performance using the standard application performance management tools.
  • Security: Incorporate security best practices and ensure compliance of the platform with industry standards.
  • Incident Management: Participate in out of hours on-call rota, help troubleshoot platform related incidents and implement post incident improvements to prevent recurrent issues.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication of upcoming platform changes, coordinating upgrades and maintenance windows and holding service providers accountable to contractual SLAs.
