Platform Engineering Book Club: Architecture for Flow by Susanne Kaiser
Modern cloud and platform teams are under pressure to deliver faster while systems, teams, and organizations become increasingly complex. In this first ever session of the new Platform Engineering Community book club hosted by Faisal Afzal, we will discuss Architecture for Flow by Susanne Kaiser. The book brings together ideas from Domain-Driven Design, Wardley Mapping, and Team Topologies to help you design socio-technical systems that actually support flow rather than fight it.
In this session, we will explore practical ways to:
- Connect business strategy to technical architecture and team design
- Use mapping and modeling techniques to reveal bottlenecks in flow
- Align services, platforms, and teams around value streams
- Evolve architecture iteratively instead of with big bang redesigns
