FAQs

How does the course work?
The course takes place in 1-hour live Zoom sessions, which include a lecture, in-session work, a closing Q&A, and homework. There is also an optional additional hour a week for homework and extra reading and watching.

There are 8 sessions + 2 guest lectures. The sessions cover both the cultural and technical fundamentals of platform engineering.
What happens if I can’t attend live?
All sessions are recorded and shared with all participants after the session. All participants are invited to join a private Slack channel dedicated to asynchronous Q&A, and discussion of the shared homework, and additional materials.
Is it possible to purchase a bundle of courses for my organization?

Does this course give a certification?
This course is part one of the three-part platform engineering community certification track. Each course will give you a badge that can be shared on your LinkedIn. However, you will not receive a full certification until you have completed Platform Engineering Fundamentals, MVP to IDP, and a certification exam.
What technology do I need to have?
Just a computer. Nothing special.
What pre-requisite training do I need to have?
You should already be familiar with core concepts of DevOps, such as Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code et al.
What timezone are the sessions?
The sessions (unless stated otherwise) take place at 7 pm CEST.
Is paying by invoice or wire transfer possible?
Yes.
